Welcome back to Fatto a Mano, our pasta class series where we explore the art of handmade pasta! Sud Forno's Executive Chef Giovanna Alonzi will guide you in the journey to master the techniques of handmade pasta from egg pasta typical of Emilia Romagna like tagliatelle, ravioli or tortellini to orecchiette and cavatelli from the south. Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty and learn in a fun and interactive atmosphere as you learn all the secrets to making pasta by hand. 

On Thursday, June 10th at 6PM, Chef Giovanna will be teaching you the secrets to making pesto alla Genovese and trofie, a short, thin and twisted pasta originally from Liguria!

For the time being, Chef Giovanna will be teaching the class on the video application, Zoom. The $35 cost of the event includes access to the class only. If you would like to receive your pasta starter kit, be sure to select the option above. The pasta starter kit allows 1 person to participate, but the finished meal made from the kit will feed 2-4 people. You can choose to purchase additional pasta starter kits so more than one person can participate. 

You can pickup your pasta starter kit at Sud Forno Queen (716 Queen St. W.) or at Spaccio (22 Sackville St.) or have it delivered starting two days before the date of your class.

You will be able to choose your pickup date and time on the checkout page. We will be emailing you your Zoom access link 24 hours before the start of your class.

500gr Dough (ready to use)

1 Potato

100gr Green Beans

1 Cavinona Cloth Tote Bag

365ml Bottle EVOO

150gr Pecorino

150gr Grana

1 Garlic Clove

70gr Fresh Basil

20gr Pine Nuts

1kg Coarse Salt

Pasta Jesce Trofie: PastaJesce is durum wheat semolina pasta produced in Altamura, Puglia, Italy. Learn more about Pasta Jesce here.

Al Volo Dolci Jar: "Al Volo”, meaning “On the Go”, are mono-portion dessert jars. Learn more about each flavour here.

Frozen Stirata Pizza: All of your favourite pizze from Spaccio, frozen and easy to prepare. Preheat oven to 400F and bake for 13-15 minutes. Learn more about each flavour here.

Frangipane all’Arancia: Flourless orange cake made with almond flour, orange oil, butter, sugar, starch, salt and eggs. Contains nuts. 

Terroni Tagliere Mezzo e Mezzo: Antipasto plate with a selection of fine Italian cured meats and cheeses. Items may vary based on availability.

Pestle and Mortar: Stone pestle and mortar great for pesto, guacamole, salsa and more. Made from natural granite. Diameter of 7.75” and must be hand washed. 

Rolling Pin: A wooden rolling tool used to shape your dough. Pairs perfectly with our Tagliere da Sfoglina made exclusively for Spaccio. It measures 42.5 inches long. 

Tagliere da Sfoglina: Made by Saliente Designs exclusively for Spaccio, this large wooden board is the perfect addition to your home. Throughout Italy you will find that every kitchen uses a tagliere in order to make any type of dough - pizza, pasta, bread, etc. Saliente is a woodworking company from Ontario that specializes in customized orders using hard maple to withstand time. It measures 24 inches wide and 43 inches long.

NV Prosecco Brut DOC, Le Monde: Pale straw yellow with delicate aromas of baked golden apple, wisteria, and toasted bread. Bright and fresh with a delicate mousse.

White

2020 Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, Piero Mancini, Sardegna: Pale straw yellow with greenish glints. Elegant and aromatic with floral notes alongside fresh herbs and yellow apple. 2019 Majé Pigato, Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC, Bruna:
Bright straw-yellow with an aromatic nose typical of the varietal: floral and fruity (yellow peach, citron) with herbal Mediterranean scrub. Fresh and savoury on the palate, extremely pleasant and elegant. The stone walls bordering the terraced hillsides are called MAJE.

Delivery & Pickup 

Local Delivery

We now deliver locally with Trexity! Enter your postal code when you checkout to see if you are eligible for local delivery (20km radius from Spaccio at 22 Sackville Street). Deliveries arrive between 12pm-8pm. For questions about your delivery, please contact Spaccio directly at (416) 368-4248. You will receive same day delivery if you order before 3pm. Orders placed after 3pm will arrive next day. Deliveries with Trexity can be tracked from the moment your order is being prepared up until you receive your order. 

Store Pickup

Store pickup for this item is available at Sud Forno Queen (716 Queen St. W.) or at Spaccio (22 Sackville St.) on Tuesday, the 8th and Wednesday the 9th. Choose your pickup date and time on the checkout page.
