One year later and here we are with our 40th meal box! It's been an incredible journey and we can't thank you enough for your ongoing support. To give back to you, our loyal patrons, we asked you to help us pick this week's menu. The results were close, but we have some winners!

Like always we'll have fresh Sud Forno bread made by our Head Baker Luca Rotatori and you can choose the multi-course meal on its own or pair it with a selection of wines from our wine agency Cavinona!




Included in the box:

Pane Pugliese: mother yeast (white flour and water), semola rimacinata from Altamura, salt

Funghi Assoluti: oyster mushrooms, arugula, bread crumbs, grana, salt, black pepper, garlic, balsamic vinegar

Orecchiette Cime di Rapa: orecchiette (semolina rimacinata, water) cime di rapa (rapini, anchovy, garlic, chili, bread crumbs)

Polpo e Patate: steamed octopus, fingerling potatoes, cherry tomatoes, olives, oregano, salt, pepper, EVOO

Tiramisu: yolk, sugar, mascarpone, marsala, savoiardi sponge soaked in coffee


Funghi Assoluti: Preheat oven to 425F. Place the oyster mushroom tray in the oven for 8-10 minutes. Place each arugula portion on a plate. Separate mushrooms into two portions and place over the arugula. Shake the balsamic vinegar dressing well and pour over mushrooms, sprinkle additional parmigiano and serve.

Orecchiette Cime di Rapa: Bring a large pot of well salted water to a boil. Add the rapini and pasta and cook for 10 minutes. In a pan heat the anchovy, olive oil, garlic clove and chili until the garlic clove is golden, turn off the heat. Strain the pasta and the rapini together. In a bowl, add the orecchiette and rapini and the olive oil mixture from the pan; mix well with a spoon, smashing the rapini as you go. Divide the orecchiette in two plates and dust with bread crumbs.

Polpo e Patate: Preheat a pan until very hot. Toss the contents of the potato tray into the pan, swerving the pan around. Open the octopus package, pat it dry, season with salt and oil. Heat 2 tblsp of EVOO in a cast iron skillet, sear the octopus, 3-4 minutes per size. Serve the octopus over the potato side.

Tiramisu: Ready to serve.



2018 'Merula Rosa IGT' Carvinea, Puglia: 100% Montepulciano. Bright cherry colour with typical notes of black currant and ripe red fruit with hints of spice. Fresh and sapid with a fruity persistence.

2019 'Filari Lunghi' Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, Brandini: 100% Dolcetto. Ruby red with violet reflections, the nose is medium-high intensity and developed with notes of bright fruit and spice. Dry with balanced tannins and good persistency.

2019 'Bianchi Grilli', Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Torre dei Beati: 100% Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. Straw-gold yellow with deep and elegant notes of white flowers and yellow fruit, with hints of chamomile and star anise that are typical of the variety. A medium body and fresh acidity provide for easy pairings.

Local Delivery

We now deliver our meal boxes with Trexity! Enter your postal code when you checkout to see if you are eligible for local delivery (20km radius from Spaccio at 22 Sackville Street). Deliveries arrive between 12pm-8pm. For questions about your delivery, please contact Spaccio directly at (416) 368-4248. You will receive same day delivery if you order before 3pm. Orders placed after 3pm will arrive next day. Deliveries with Trexity can be tracked from the moment your order is being prepared up until you receive your order. 

Store Pickup

Store pickup for this item is available at Sud Forno Queen (716 Queen St. W.) or at Spaccio (22 Sackville St.) on Friday the 12th Saturday the 13th or Sunday the 14th (Spaccio only). Choose your pickup date and time on the checkout page.
