FATTO A MANO: CAPPELLACCI DI ZUCCA
If you are interested in learning the art of pasta fatta in casa (homemade pasta) then our monthly "Fatto a Mano" series hosted at Sud Forno Queen is the event for you! Executive Chef Giovanna Alonzi will guide you in the journey to master the techniques of homemade pasta. From egg pasta typical of Emilia Romagna like tagliatelle, ravioli or tortellini to orecchiette and cavatelli from the south, get your hands dirty and learn in a fun and interactive atmosphere.
October’s Fatto a Mano is all about the fall! Come learn how the squash filled, hat shaped “Cappellacci di Zucca Ferraresi” earned their IGP denomination from their inception in 1584. Executive Chef Giovanna Alonzi will talk about their history as she teaches you how to sheet pasta like a real sfoglina with a matterello and how to shape the cappellacci the Ferrarese way. You’ll also get to see how to prepare the Cappellacci and of course how to savour them all the while snacking on delicious Sud Forno aperitivo food and sipping on Prosecco (first glass on us).
