Buona Festa della Mamma! Happy Mother's Day! What better way to celebrate Mom this year than to enjoy the afternoon making pasta together! Learn to make cappelletti, a stuffed pasta with ricotta and parmigiano originally from Emilia Romagna from our expert pasta-maker, Sud Forno's Executive Chef Giovanna Alonzi. 

For the time being, Chef Giovanna will be teaching the class on the video application, Zoom. The $35 cost of the event includes access to the class only. If you would like to receive your pasta starter kit, be sure to select the option above. The pasta starter kit allows 1 person to participate, but the finished meal made from the kit will feed 2-4 people.

You can pickup your pasta starter kit at Sud Forno Queen (716 Queen St. W.) or at Spaccio (22 Sackville St.) or have it delivered starting two days before the date of your class.

You will be able to choose your pickup date and time on the checkout page. We will be emailing you your Zoom access link 24 hours before the start of your class. Once you receive your starter kit, store all items in the fridge.





Pasta Starter Kit Contents:

150 gr of Grana

150 gr of Pecorino

400 gr of Pasta Sheets (ready to be used)

1x Jar of Pomodoro or Sausage Ragù
Pomodoro: tomatoes, onion, basil, EVOO
Sausage Ragù: pork, beef, onion, celery, carrots, red wine, EVOO, cloves, nutmeg, salt, pepper, herbs

450gr Ricotta Ferrante

1x kg of 00 Molino Mariani Flour

4x Eggs

1x Piping Bag

Adding extra pasta starter kits will simply add 1kg of flour and extra eggs so more than one person can participate in the class.

Pasta Guitar: Small and practical beech wood pasta guitar for cutting spaghetti and tagliatelle with a birch wood slide.

Tagliatelle Knife: The "cortlénna" (in Bolognese dialect) or the coltellina knife is a long knife with a high rectangular blade, useful for cutting fresh homemade pasta into noodles.

Tagliere da Sfoglina: Made by Saliente Designs exclusively for Spaccio, this large wooden board is the perfect addition to your home. Throughout Italy you will find that every kitchen uses a tagliere in order to make any type of dough - pizza, pasta, bread, etc. Saliente is a woodworking company from Ontario that specializes in customized orders using hard maple to withstand time. It measures 24 inches wide and 43 inches long. 




Le Monde Prosecco: Pale straw yellow with delicate aromas of baked golden apple, wisteria, and toasted bread. Bright and fresh with a delicate mousse.

Franciacorta Rosé DOCG, Contadi Costaldi: Coral pink, very bright, with a fine and persistent perlage. An original Franciacorta in a modern style, making skilful use of the Pinot nero grapes. The nose features distinct notes of wild berries, fresh rose petals, hints of apple and tropical fruit. Structured palate, crisp and sapid. The finish is long and well balanced.


2018 Rosato IGT, Monteraponi: A rosé, brilliant and of an intense pink, it presents notes of strawberry and raspberry. Sangiovese gives high notes of acidity and freshness, also guaranteeing durability and longevity, characteristics not common for a rosé.


2019 Filari Lunghi Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, Brandini: Ruby red with violet reflections, the nose is medium-high intensity and developed with notes of bright fruit and spice. Dry with balanced tannins and good persistency.




Delivery & Pickup 

Local Delivery

We now deliver locally with Trexity! Enter your postal code when you checkout to see if you are eligible for local delivery (20km radius from Spaccio at 22 Sackville Street). Deliveries arrive between 12pm-8pm. For questions about your delivery, please contact Spaccio directly at (416) 368-4248. You will receive same day delivery if you order before 3pm. Orders placed after 3pm will arrive next day. Deliveries with Trexity can be tracked from the moment your order is being prepared up until you receive your order. 

Store Pickup

Store pickup for this item is available at Sud Forno Queen (716 Queen St. W.) or at Spaccio (22 Sackville St.) on Friday the 7th and Saturday the 8th. Choose your pickup date and time on the checkout page.
